New Hill Family Racing, Fuel Altered

Ryan Hill The Nitro Bandido. First to win it.

Ryan spent ten years as a machinist before he made nitro his life. In 2025 he won the first Fuel Altered race in IHRA history. Now Hill Family Racing races with Enthusiast Racing, and we're all in on them.

We win and lose as a family

Hill Family Racing comes out of northwest Indiana. Ryan's dad, Dave Hill, raced a nitro dragster in NHRA Division 3 and IHRA Pro Fuel, then built a nitro funny car of his own. Ryan started in Junior Dragsters with his brother, Josh, and won three straight track championships at U.S. 131 Motorsports Park in Martin, Michigan.

He moved up to Top Sportsman and Pro Mod, and he worked ten years as a machinist before joining his dad's business, which repairs recycling and metal-processing equipment. A machinist at the wheel. That's what we mean by nitro, built by the trades.

The Hills started building the Nitro Bandido two years before there was a class to run it in. When IHRA brought Fuel Altered into the Outlaw Nitro Series in 2025, Ryan qualified No. 1 at the first race, at Darana Dragway in West Salem, Ohio, and won it with a 3.512 at 211.47 mph over Pete Dove, who races with us now too. In May 2026 he won the IHRA Spring Nationals at Darana Raceway in Hebron, Ohio, with a 3.526 at 224.55 mph.

All in with the Hills

“It's a team sport. These guys are all my family, and we win and lose as a family.”

Shannon is Mad Maxine: she backs the car up after the burnout, in sequins and boots, and she's the team's ambassador. She's also a pastry chef who built her own bakery and food truck.
