2027 Skilled Works, hosted by Enthusiast Racing

Our drag race is a job fair.

For skilled workers. Every nitro race we host in 2027 doubles as a job fair: employers on the midway, the trades on show, nitro on the track. Come for the race. Leave with a handshake, a job and a great time.

Why a drag race

Every nitro car on the track is built and kept alive by skilled workers: machinists, welders, fabricators, electricians and mechanics. Our own drivers come from the trades. Ryan Hill ran machines for ten years. Pete Dove's crew is eleven people, each with a job on the car.

A job board leaves people online and alone. A race puts them together, face to face, with real work in front of them and a reason to stay all day. A handshake, a job and a great time.

So we're building the races around it. The cars bring the crowd. The midway brings the employers. The trades bring the people who want a better job, and the ones who don't know yet that they'd love one.

How a race day works

  1. Try itHands-on stations on the midway, run by the people who do the work every day.
  2. Meet themEmployers and trade schools in their own booths, ready to talk pay, training and a path.
  3. Get hiredInterviews at the track. Drivers can pretest for a CDL on site.
  4. Stay for the nitroThen watch cars built by machinists, welders and mechanics run down the track.

Stations we're planning

Plumbing

Build a bathroom

A local plumbing company shows how it goes together, and visitors put their hands on the pipe.

Roofing

Shingle a roof

A roofer, a ladder and a section of roof. Try a row.

Machining

Run a desktop CNC

The software, the machine and the person who makes them work together.

Automotive

The real oil change

A shop and its lift suppliers show what goes into a car's most common service.

Food service

Make it safe

The vendors feeding the crowd show how big kitchens and their suppliers keep it safe.

Trucking

The CDL lane

Licensed drivers meet carriers. New drivers pretest and find a school seat.

The stations, employers and schools are set race by race with the companies near each track. Tracks and dates are still being signed.
